About our annual GP payment plan
How long does my annual access last?
Your annual access is for 12 calendar months rather than 52 weeks. For example if you started the annual access on 14 April 2022 it would expire on 14 April 2023.
Who can access GP appointments?
Annual access is for the named individual only. Unfortunately we can't offer appointments to family members or partners.
Appointments are only available for those who are over 18.
How do I book a private GP appointment?
Please call us on 0343 2538530. Lines are open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and we're closed on weekends. We may record or monitor our calls. Please let the booker know that you are part of the Bupa GP annual payment plan.
How do I pay for the annual payment plan?
Depending on which scheme you choose, you'll pay a one-off payment for the year. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Delta or Diners Club. We don't accept cash or cheques, or American Express.
If you can't make your appointment, you must let us know 24 hours in advance or you may be charged. To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call us on 0343 253 8530.
You can cancel at any point within your 14 day cooling off period and receive a full refund. After 14 days you will not be eligible for a refund. If you book and attend an appointment in your cooling off period the price of the appointment will be deducted from your refund.
If you do need to change your appointment, please call our bookings team on 0333 920 7604 and we ll be happy to help.
If you have a remote appointment please make sure you answer the call. If you miss the call, the doctor will try to contact you again. If you don't answer, we won t be able to carry out the appointment and we may have to reschedule your appointment at an extra cost. A cancellation charge will be equal to the full cost of your appointment and will also be made to any appointments which are cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice.
Any prescription issued will be private. This means you will need to pay for your medication, medication costs vary by medicine and by the pharmacy who dispenses it, its not a flat fee like in the NHS.
If your GP provides you with a digital prescription you can arrange for free delivery via our pharmacy partner, or you can go to a participating pharmacy and give them your prescription code that the GP will email to you. If you are given a paper prescription you can take this into any pharmacy for them to dispense.
If the GP thinks there are medical reasons for it, they may advise you to attend a face-to-face appointment. This could be at one of our Bupa health centres. There will be an additional charge for this appointment if you are on the remote only plan.
We ll send you simple instructions and a link before you have your call. You have two options.
- If you re planning to use a laptop or desktop computer, you can take the call using your web browser.
- If you'll be using a smartphone or tablet, you ll probably want to use an app.
Please contact our bookings team on 0345 604 0612^ and we'll try to find out what went wrong. For example, we'll need to double-check that we have the correct phone number.
We welcome everyone. If you have any particular needs, please let us know when you book. This is so that special arrangements and/or an extended appointment can be made for you, if necessary. If you have restricted mobility, we may need to give you additional information about parking or access to the building. If you have other difficulties, for example with communication, we recommend bringing someone with you (such as a signer). We do not have specialist equipment such as hoists.
Telephone and video consultations
Yes. The call is by telephone or video so you won t place anyone at risk if you do have the coronavirus.
In-person appointments at a health centre
No. If you need information or advice, visit NHS 111 online or call 111. If your symptoms become severe, please consider whether you need to call 999.
