Smile in a day treatment at Total Dental Care involves placing dental implants and a full set of temporary, natural-looking fixed teeth on the same day. The temporary teeth are then replaced with a set of permanent teeth once your gums have healed.

It’s often used as a solution for those who have few or no remaining teeth or don’t want to wear dentures. One of the main benefits of the treatment is that there’s no need for long healing periods and multiple surgeries, which is common with implant placement.

Experienced with complex dental needs

The majority of our patients have complex dental needs and require smile in a day on at least one full jaw, however, the technique is also suitable for single and multiple implant placements. We regularly treat patients without needing to perform bone grafts or sinus lifts, but we can provide these procedures if necessary.

We have been able to treat many patients who have been previously told they aren’t suitable for implants, with our innovative techniques. Due to the specialist skills of our team, we routinely treat patients referred to us by other dentists. Dr Michael Zybutz is also one of the few UK registered dentists who can offer zygomatic cheekbone implants, which we accept referrals for.

Our lead dental surgeon who carries out smile in a day treatment, Dr Michael Zybutz, is an expert in his field. He has over 25 years’ experience placing dental implants and is a GDC registered specialist periodontist. He’s also a diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology, a world authority for dental implants, aesthetics and bone regeneration.

From 2013 to 2015, he was the resident dental expert on Channel 5’s ‘Botched up Bodies’, correcting dental work using dental implants.

Services for nervous patients

Our clinicians have extensive experience dealing with highly-anxious patients. Our approach is designed to be reassuring, supportive and honest, to build trust with our patients and help them overcome their dental phobia. Our patients will also have their own treatment coordinator who will be on-hand to guide them through each step of their treatment.

The majority of our patients opt for dental sedation, which is administered by an experienced sedationist who will stay with you throughout the procedure. This means you’ll be conscious but will be in a deeply relaxed state. We’ll be happy to speak to you about your options.

How to find our implant centre

You’ll find us on Sandgate Road, the main high street in Folkestone. If you’re driving, there’s limited parking on street and there are several pay and display car parks in easy walking distance of the practice.

If you’re using public transport, several local buses stop nearby in the town centre and we’re an eight-minute walk from Folkestone Central train station.
